GPSense Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

GPSense — GPS Test & Status is a GPS utility for iPhone and Apple Watch, distributed through the Apple App Store and published by Andadasi (Karen Simonyan). This policy covers the iOS app and its Apple Watch app; they contain no third-party SDKs, advertising or analytics frameworks.

What the app accesses

GPSense asks iOS for two permissions and uses them while you use the app, and while a track you started is recording:

The Apple Watch app asks the watch for the same two permissions, for the same purposes, and likewise keeps using location with your wrist down only while a track you started on the watch is recording.

The position itself is computed by Apple’s iOS Location Services (GPS, Wi‑Fi and cellular positioning). Any data iOS exchanges with Apple to do that is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and your iOS Location Services settings, not by GPSense. The app only reads the result.

What the app does with it

Everything is processed on your device and shown to you. GPSense has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network connections. Nothing you see in the app is transmitted, stored outside your device, or shared with anyone.

When you use Copy or Share, the coordinates go only where you send them.

When you use GPSense actions in Siri, Shortcuts or the Action button, the app answers on your device. How Siri handles your spoken request is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Everything GPSense keeps stays on your own device, in the app’s own storage:

Tracks and waypoints are removed when you delete them in the app; everything is removed when you delete the app.

App Store privacy label

On the App Store, GPSense is declared as “Data Not Collected”: the app collects no data linked or not linked to you, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Purchases and beta testing

GPSense is sold as a paid download through the App Store; Apple handles payment and the app never sees your payment details. If you test pre-release versions through TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports and the feedback you choose to send with the developer under the TestFlight terms.

Permissions

You can review or revoke location and motion access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security, or under GPSense in the Settings list. GPSense keeps working with reduced functionality.

Children

GPSense collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
